Program for calculating the components

The design center is a set of programs for the automated design of electromagnetic components based on cores from amorphous and nanocrystalline alloys.

Often, consumers have difficulty using cores made of modern soft magnetic alloys. Materials have their own characteristics, practical literature on their use is not enough. Calculation of electromagnetic components is a rather time-consuming process, involving several iterations on the way to a completed project, since this is a task with several interrelated variables. Usually, a number of simplifications are used in manual calculations in order to reduce the complexity of searching for possible options. It is quite difficult to find the optimal solution.

To help our customers, we have developed a number of calculator programs and integrated them into one program (the ".7z" archive is saved - if it didn’t open, then install the archiver from the official site).

For transformers:

Programs can reduce time, simplify and refine design. The user selects a series of magnetic cores, sets the initial data and presses the auto-select button. The program selects the appropriate magnetic circuit (in terms of minimum size and price) and performs component design. The program calculates a large number of options and focuses on the best. However, in practice, optimization criteria for each specific user may be different. For one, this is the price, for another, overall dimensions, for the third, minimal losses, for the fourth, wide temperature range, for the fifth, the constructive convenience of winding, the use of the existing magnetic circuit and wires, etc.

To solve these problems, most programs have a section "Optimization". Here, changing within a small range the data obtained as a result of automatic design, the user can optimize and refine the project in relation to individual specific requirements.

The database of all programs used data of domestic wire brand PET-155. For other brands, there may be slight differences. Calculation of the resistance of the winding is performed for domestic wires. For imported wires (AWG), the actual values ​​of the resistance of the winding can be significantly higher. When assessing the dimensions of winding products and the length of the wires of the windings, an approximate algorithm developed based on experimental data was used. Actual values ​​depend on the skill of the particular employee who is entrusted with the manufacture of the component and may differ significantly from the calculated ones.


Stages of development programs

05/12/20 - Comprehensive software update:

1. Added programs for calculating the power factor corrector choke and flyback converter transformer. Total 8 programs.

2. The number of used series of magnetic cores has been expanded. New series of ribbon magnetic cores were added: MSCN, MSC-NGA, MSC-NGN and powder magnetic cores of APM, ARN with different permeability. Total 22 series of magnetic cores.

3. The database has been adjusted in accordance with the changed specifications.

4. All programs are combined into one - new Interface of Design Center .

5. Fixed noticed program errors.

6. Frequency range has been expanded.

7. An English version of the Design Center provides using of AWG wires.
