Cores nanocrystalline with low permeability

MSCN series

Toroidal cores of the MSCN series are made of a thin (18 ± 2 µm) nanocrystalline tape AMAG 178N. Magnetic cores with a sufficiently high induction (1.05 T) have uniquely low losses, high limiting operating temperature, excellent linearity of the hysteresis loop, which makes them indispensable for all devices related to energy storage. Сores have good permeability stability with changes in temperature, induction amplitude, frequency.

Сores hold promise for high-frequency inductive components in the frequency range up to 10 MHz, in applications where low permeability, low losses at high frequency with large induction amplitude, good dependence of inductance on a constant bias field, high Q-factor and low loss tangent, good stability of properties.

  • **** The maximum value of the magnetomotive force is the condition for measuring the inductance coefficient ALcm. in a displacement field of 35 Oe, defined as the product of a direct displacement current by the number of winding turns (Icm × N). Under this condition, the value of the inductance coefficient ALcm. should be at least 60% of the AL value at Icm. = 0. It is a guaranteed parameter and is not controlled upon receipt and delivery.

Note: It is allowed to supply magnetic cores of other standard sizes, including in containers supplied by the Customer, under a separate agreement.

Advantages

  • Uniquely low losses, lower than that of MSC, MSC-G, APM, APH series, and also lower than widely used imported magnetodielectrics and flux-cored magnetic cores
  • Versatile wide size range covering three series of low permeability choke cores
  • Excellent dependence of permeability on the magnitude of the constant field (current) bias. The maximum displacement field is 35 Oe. There is no significant drop in permeability characteristic of flux-cored magnetic circuits with an increase in the magnitude of the constant field
  • In contrast to powder magneto-dielectrics, with an increase in the amplitude of induction, the permeability does not decrease, but increases
  • Good temperature dependence of permeability. The negative dependence of the permittivity with increasing temperature can be used to compensate for the positive dependence for magnetodielectrics
  • Ability to operate at high operating frequency with large induction amplitude
  • Small spread in permeability
  • High saturation induction
  • Linear narrow hysteresis loop

Design

Cores are available in three design options:

  1. The twisted tape magnetic core is placed in a protective container made of aluminum alloy and mechanically fixed with silicone sealant. The container has an insulating coating, rounded edges and is designed for direct wrapping. The container provides reliable mechanical protection of the amorphous material and the preservation of its properties.
  2. In a rigid container made of glass-filled polyamide with rounded edges, good insulating properties, resistant to high temperatures and intended for direct application with thick wire.
  3. The protective container is coated with epoxy powder paint.
